We enjoyed our autumnal stay so much that it's tempting to keep quiet about the hotel for selfish reasons, but the owners really do deserve every success. Our room had beautiful views over the water to Bute, (the ferry is a minute's walk from the hotel) and was decidedly cosy. Best thing about the hotel, though, was the welcoming bar where we ate on all three nights of our trip: the food was excellent, likewise the wines, there was a nice friendly atmosphere - not always the case when you are in someone's local - and a warming log-burner, so the overall experience was very relaxing. We aim to return next year.
